I know that overwhelming feeling you have right now. You are stressed about your finances, marriage, ministry, fertility treatments, fostering and so on. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:26 that “Look at the birds, they don’t sow or reap, yet our Heavenly Father takes care of them. Are you not worth more than they?” (Paraphrased). If God loves the birds and all the creatures of this earth enough to provide for them, why do we think He won’t take care of us?
Stop looking at all the earthly possessions that you don’t have or can’t have, and look up towards heaven! This life as hard, sad, demanding, and happy as it can be is temporary. Our home is heaven. Think on that. God has more in store for us than anything we can obtain here on Earth. Stop looking for hope and fulfillment in the wrong things and see the great things eternity has in store! This world is not our home, we are just passing through! Be encouraged. Look up to heaven! Xoxo
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
In the light of all these suicides, it has got me thinking. You never know the pain someone is dealing with, the daily struggles they face.
As Christians, we are called to love. To love everyone. Not to pick and choose who you want to love, but to love EVERYONE! Jesus came to this world to love it, not condemn it. If the One and only savior came to love the world; why do we think we can do anything but?
We think because someone has a difference in their opinions, religion, lifestyles or any other choices, that it gives us an “excuse” to not love.
Please don’t be like the judge or juror. People need love, support and prayers. You want them to come to Jesus and be saved: Love and pray for them. You think they’re struggling with something: love and pray for them. We never know what someone is going through. We are all good at hiding behind masks or fake smiles, that doesn’t mean we don’t all have hurts. So please, let’s be like Jesus and love people. That is the only way to truly help save people. Xoxo
““I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.””
As the song says: fear he is a liar, he will steal your happiness. There is so much truth in that lyric. Fear creeps in not at all once, but slowly over time.
Fear will tell you:
* You’re not good enough
* You will fail.
* You aren’t beautiful
* You aren’t loved
* You are alone.
All of these things that fear tells you is a LIE. The enemy wants to defeat you by making you believe his lies. You are exactly how God made you. He does love you. You are beautiful in His eyes. You are more than enough. You matter to Him. With God you won’t fail. Stop allowing fear to whisper those lies into your heart. Shout Gods truth into your heart. Destroy those lies. You are a child of the king!
“There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love.”
God’s presence is everywhere, He is omnipotent. He can be all things and everywhere. So why is it that we don’t seek after Him? We know He is always there but we don’t always accept His presence.
Invite His presence to be there with you. How can you invite Him you ask?
* Seek Him in His Word
* Seek Him in prayer
*Seek Him in your knowledge
Get to know Him intimately and personally. The more you seek Him, the more you will find Him. You will know that He is always there. Your cup will be filled with His goodness and will never run empty. His mercy will be never ending!
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the person who seeks him.”
Being desperate can make a person do crazy things. The children of Israel were so desperate to get out of the wilderness, that they left they’re faith and worshipped false Gods. They couldn’t be patient, they didn’t want to wait upon the Lord and all His goodness. We can be so impatient that we take matters in our own hands, but what good does that do?
Don’t be so desperate for things that you want in this life whether it be; a baby, money, spouse, new car, that you miss out on Gods goodness for you. Don’t allow your desperation to separate you from God and His plans. Hold on. Keep trusting. Keep believing. When you come out of your wilderness into your promise land you will forget your desperation. All you will see is the glory of God. Don’t lose sight of God. Let go of the desperation.
“keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Have you ever found yourself bargaining with God during your quiet time with HIm? We tell Him all these “promises” of things we will do for Him if He grants us the things we are asking. Somehow, we have lost perspective on who God really is. We think of Him more like a genie that grants us our wishes; instead of a God who knows what is best for us. We need to trust in the “even ifs” of life. What are you talking about? You ask. Let me explain.
Even if you dont get that promotion….God is good.
Even if that pregnancy test is negative for the millionth time…God is a comforter.
Even if you can’t seem to make enough to pay your bills….God is a provider.
Even if your marriage is in shambles…God is a healer.
Even if you feel like youre never going to be a mother…God is a waymaker.
Do you see the pattern here? No matter what your even ifs are, just remember God is God. He has already made a way for you to overcome every obstacle before it happens. This world and the enemy that roams in it wants nothing but to make you think God is absent; I can assure you that He is very much present. He is always with you. He is always for you. The bible reminds us in (Romans 8:31) “that if God is for us, who can be against us.” No one can ever do anything to you that He doesn’t allow. Take comfort today in knowing that even if you feel all alone, God is with you always! xoxo
Jesus continually teaches us to be kind, loving, compassionate and forgiving. Why? You ask. The answer is really simple; He is all those things. He calls us as Christians (followers of Christ) to be all those things. We can’t truly be Christians if we don’t have those things or the fruits of the spirit with us ( Galatians 5:22).
We never truly know or see what someone is facing externally or internally. Everyone has struggles. Everyone has pain. Everyone makes a mistake. As Christians, it is our duty to act as much like Christ as we we can. We will never be perfect, it is impossible; however, He tells us to strive to live our lives according to Him.
So, if you call yourself a “Christian” and yet you are NOT kind, compassionate, loving, forgiving or carry the fruits of the spirit with you, you aren’t living up to Jesus example. You can’t be a follower of Christ and harbor bitterness. You can’t call yourself a Christian and not forgive others. How can you minister to others if you lack forgiveness, compassion, love, etc. You can’t. The Bible says in Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive others their offenses, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well. But if you don’t forgive others, your Father will not forgive your offenses.” You can’t be a Christian and not forgive or not love people.
Being a Christian is more than identifying yourself as that. It is living a Christian life. It is spreading the gospel of Jesus to this world. This world is filled with people who are hurting. People who think they have no escape. People who are constantly being lied to by the enemy. We as Christians are there to be the light of Jesus to those who are hurting. My challenge to you today is to be a CHRISTIAN. Forgive those you’re angry with. Love everyone, even your enemies. Show compassion. Be a shoulder to cry on. Be an example of Christ. You never know how your kindness or love could change or even save someone’s life and soul. Carry Jesus with you and watch as people’s lives you touch change! Xoxo
“And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
As I listen to this song “beautiful messes”, I was struck with this thought. Life is full of messes. It is what we make of those messes that define us. Sometimes we have to be broken in order for God to heal us. We have to go through the valley in order to reach the promise land. We have to climb the mountain to get to the top, to see the beauty while looking down.
The messes you are in right now, will become beautiful. Your broken heart will be mended. God will make beauty from your ashes. He will turn your tears of sorrow into tears joy. He will take you to your promise land. Be encouraged today, because God will take your messes and make something beautiful come forth from it. He loves you unconditionally. He has so many beautiful blessings waiting for you. Xoxo
“to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify him.”
We have all had people hurt us. Whether it was intentional or not doesn’t matter, the hurt was still there. We’ve also all done things where we were the ones who needed to be forgiven. Everyone has a past, some pasts are better than others. It doesn’t matter what they did, Jesus tells us that if we want His forgiveness we must forgive.
To be a true Christian means to let go of grudges and forgive. Holding onto grudges will only become your own downfall, it will allow bitterness to creep into your heart. Once bitterness is inside your heart it is extremely hard to get it out. Don’t risk your own forgiveness by harboring an unforgiving attitude towards others or yourself. Forgiveness is liberating and can free you from bitterness, shame, guilt, anger, and rage that you may be feeling.
No matter what you did, you must forgive yourself. You can’t keep allowing your past to dictate your future. That hurt that someone caused you, you must forgive them! Let go of all the mistakes you’ve made and all the hurts that you’ve endured. Embrace the freedom of forgiveness!
“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,”
I want you to know that God does NOT give us the spirit of fear. The enemy wants us to wallow in our sadness so he can constantly beat us down and make us feel unworthy and unloved. But, just remember we have a Savior who loves us, His plans for us are way bigger than our anxieties, worries, or fears. He has chosen us for this path, and while we can’t understand or see why, HE can. He sees the whole big picture, He sees all those we have been able to minister to during our toughest trials, He sees all the night we’ve cried ourselves to sleep begging for a break through, and HE SEES OUR FUTURE. The enemy is afraid of your future and that’s why he is whispering those thoughts of doubt into your heart. Don’t let the enemy keep you from Gods plans. Keep trusting. Keep claiming the victory, and remember I’m praying with you and for you.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
